Flynn Theater Main Stage

The grand MainStage is the Flynn’s original theatre, fully restored in 2000 to full Art Deco splendor. It features world-class music, jazz, theater, dance, and family performances. Adjacent is a newly expanded and renovated lobby. Built in 1930, the MainStage is a state-of-the art, full-service, 1,411-seat presentation facility. The MainStage is available for concerts and other public performances, large meetings, and teleconferences. Additional adjoining spaces, including the lobby and Amy E. Tarrant Gallery, are available for receptions or breakouts. Box Office

The FlynnTix Regional Box Office is the exclusive ticketing outlet for performances at the Flynn. If the event is free or is not ticketed, please mention this at the time of booking as it will affect rates.

Reception Fees in conjunction with MainStage Rental

Promotional/Marketing Services

As possible, the following promotional support is available for public events at no cost to Lessee:

  • Mounted on our street-front lighted marquee
  • Listed on FlynnTix website with ability to purchase tickets on line
  • Displayed in our lobby windows (poster to be provided by Lessee)
  • Use of Flynn's advertising contract with Burlington Free Press (subject to approval and 15% service charge)

Special Notes

The Flynn MainStage requires a $2.00 per ticket Preservation Fee ($1.00 when all tickets are $12 or less) which is placed on all tickets for all events which take place on the Flynn MainStage. The proceeds from this surcharge are used to support long-term maintenance and facility needs of this beautiful and historic art deco theatre.

Lessee must carry comprehensive liability insurance in the amount of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence with a $2,000,000 general aggregate, furnishing the Flynn with evidence of said insurance with a company licensed to do business in the State of Vermont.

A deposit of 50% of full rent, along with a signed lease confirms rental. Both must be received before public announcement of event or on-sale of tickets.


FlynnSpace Photo

The flexible and intimate FlynnSpace expands the Flynn's mission of presenting world-class performances. This home for emerging and established Vermont artists, as well as for artists around the country, features flexible configurations including cabaret, theater in the round, and traditional stage. Depending on how the space is used, it can accommodate from 110 to 200+ people. It is equipped with a Yamaha C-7 grand piano available for rent and comes with a basic sound and lighting package. FlynnSpace has been rented for a wide variety of events, including theatre presentations, cabaret revues, music performances of all kinds, dance performances, lectures, private parties, public forums, and meetings.

Promotional/Marketing Services

  • Up to five 11x17" posters mounted around the facility at pre-determined places including a sandwich board on street (posters to be provided by Lessee)
  • Listed on FlynnTix website with ability to purchase tickets on line
  • Receive 50% off open ad rate in Seven Days (minimum $500)

Amy E. Tarrant Gallery

The Amy E. Tarrant Gallery—an extension of the Flynn Lobby— is open to the public on Saturdays from 11 am to 4 pm and during the First Friday Art Walk. Performance attendees may also view exhibits prior to MainStage shows and during intermission. Chase Studio

The Flynn has two dance studios that house FlynnArts classes and camps as well as other events. Both studios are equipped with 2 bathrooms, water coolers, coat hooks, pianos, & sound systems/built-in speakers (iPod capable). Freestanding barres, chairs, music stands, and portable CD/MP3-players are also available upon request. Chase Studio (1000 sq. ft.) is on the first floor, and has a dance surface over a sprung floor, built-in bi-level barres along two walls, and a mirrored third wall. Curtains can be used to cover the mirrors. Hoehl Studio (1050 sq. ft.) is on the third floor of the Center, and has a sprung floor covered with a vinyl surface and partially mirrored walls.
