Enter at 147 Main Street, under the black and white “FlynnSpace” marquee, not the colorful “Flynn” marquee. Unless otherwise noted, all classes are held at the Flynn Center in one of our two state of the art studios or on one of our two stages. glo
Chase Dance Studio: (1st floor) has a 1000’ sq. dance surface over a sprung floor, a stereo system with 5 CD changer & speakers, built-in bi-level barres along two walls, and a mirrored third wall with removable curtains. Two bathrooms and a water cooler are located in the studio.
Hoehl Studio Lab: (3rd floor) has a 1050’ sq. sprung floor covered with a vinyl surface, with unmirrored walls. A costume closet, props closet, and music closet contain materials, and the upright piano can be moved around the room. Portable CD/MP3 players, music stands, and portable theatrical lighting units are available. Two bathrooms and a water cooler are located in the studio.
FlynnSpace: (basement) our blackbox theater, features flexible seating configurations including cabaret, theater in the round, and traditional stage. Two bathrooms are located in the lobby, and a kitchen and concessions area provides a lunch space for camps. FlynnSpace features extensive lighting and sound capabilities, and a grand piano is available. The floor is not sprung.
MainStage: is the Flynn's original theatre, fully restored in 2000 to its original Art Deco splendor. During the year it features world-class music, jazz, theater, dance, and family performances, but sometimes when it is free, FlynnArts students get to learn on the same stage as the stars perform! There are several bathrooms, a grand piano, and extensive lighting & sound systems. The floor is not sprung.
Amy Tarrant Gallery: (1st floor) The Flynn’s Art Gallery is sometimes made available for workshops or special educational programs. It is carpeted and has a built-in sound system, screen, and projector.
Partner Sites: Several summer camps are held off-site at partner organizations like Burlington City Arts, the Rokeby Musem, or Shelburne Farms. Other camps take trips to the ECHO Center, VPR, the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, and the Lake Champlain Chocolates Factory.
