Welcome to FlynnArts
Aren’t Vermont summers grand? Long days,
beautiful weather… somehow it feels like we
have just a little more of that most precious
resource, time. And what better way to spend
that time than by exploring ourselves and the
world around us through the wonder and
power of the performing arts? Here at the
Flynn, we believe in helping students and
campers to use summer’s freedom to unearth
their creative souls, nurture their talents, and grow as human beings. We espouse the
inspired maxim that artists are not a special kind of people, instead every person is
a special kind of artist—so most of our programs gently lead students and campers
to uncover their own voices, their own styles, their own genius! Some programs,
particularly Summertime Jazz and the new Summer Musical for teens, provide
talented (and most importantly passionate) students the opportunity to increase and
showcase their skills in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Summer programs are held in our two well-equipped studios at the Flynn Center, as
well as on the historic Flynn MainStage; in our black-box theater, FlynnSpace; and at
our wonderful partner sites: Burlington City Arts, Shelburne Farms, Lake Champlain
Maritime Museum, the ECHO Center, and the Ethan Allen Homestead. This year,
we’re pleased to continue providing supervised care until 5 pm after all full-day
camps, to make life easier on working parents.
This brochure fleshes out the spirit of FlynnArts—our high-caliber teaching artists, our
commitment to individual attention, and our dedication to fostering the creative spirit,
igniting curiosity about the artistic process, and helping students to claim the arts as
an integral part of their lives. Take a look around, and come join the summer fun!
Warm Regards,

These classes are especially welcoming to first-timers.
