These lively classes will transform your son or daughter’s boundless energy and active imagination into joyful motion! Group rhythmic games and improvisations help children explore dance and movement as tools for self-expression. Kids build strength, confidence, musicality, cooperation, and strong imaginations. Level II students also learn the building blocks of dance—rhythm, space, and energy— providing excellent preparation for further study in ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, and more. Classes share some adventures with family and friends at semester’s end.

Photo of Lida Winfield LIDA WINFIELD has a diverse background in choreography, performance, and the visual arts. Winfield founded her own studio in Massachusetts and creates and tours solo performances across New England.

The FlynnArts dance program instills a lifelong love of dance, helping veteran dancers and first-timers alike experience the unique power of their own bodies as expressive instruments. Classes cover a breadth of styles, teaching technique while helping students trust their own instincts—instilling confidence and a sense of accomplishment. Classes focus on process rather than product, but a year-end optional performance satisfies dancers’ desire to share their growth and hard work with family and friends. Our program is enhanced by connections to the world-class artists who perform on the Flynn MainStage and share their dance styles and ideas with FlynnArts students in masterclass settings. Drop-in students are permitted in teen/adult classes on a space-available basis for $16 per class. However, most classes fill up quickly with registered students, leaving no room for drop-ins. It is wise to secure a space in class by registering for the full semester.
