Surround your child with multicultural rhythm and song as you discover the joy of making music together! Parent/child activities include singing, focused listening, playing simple instruments, and creative movement. Nurture imaginative growth and support the development of pitch, rhythm, and musical awareness, setting the foundation for future musical study or simply a great love of music.

She plays with Burlington’s Latin band Guagua (Seven Days’ 2006 jazz album of the year), and has taught music for families and young children through several educational programs in Vermont and New York City.

Photo of Alison MottALISON MOTTis an accomplished teacher of family music and movement classes who has worked in a variety of educational settings for a broad spectrum of age groups, from infants through high school. At both the Perkins School for the Blind in MA. and HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy in PA, Alison used music as a tool for instruction, motivation, and therapy. As a classically trained musician, she has also sung and soloed with many professional choirs.

The FlynnArts music program offers a variety of vocal and instrumental classes, and serves our widest range of ages, beginning with the young infants in Music Makers. Early music classes enhance children’s natural creative impulses and help develop concentration, coordination, and cooperation. Classes for older children through adults combine individual attention with ensemble work, broaden students’ musical knowledge and performance skills, and introduce like-minded friends who often play and sing together for years to come. Masterclasses with visiting artists and discounts on world-class Flynn Center presentations further enhance the program.
