Experiment with and explore
choreographic structures
as you expand your range
of movement possibilities,
and push yourself to trust
and challenge your creative
choices. By becoming more
aware of the space our
bodies inhabit, we can find
the edges of our structure,
and ways to move beyond
those edges, freeing our bodies to move fully and efficiently through space.

LIZ LERMAN DANCE EXCHANGE is a professional company
of dance artists that creates, performs, teaches, and engages
people in making art. Acclaimed choreographer Liz Lerman
was one of the first to pioneer an intergenerational approach to
dance and has created over 50 dance/theater works, conducted
thousands of performances and community encounters, and
received numerous awards, including the MacArthur Foundation
“Genius” Fellowship.
The FlynnArts dance program instills a lifelong love of dance, helping veteran dancers and first-timers alike experience
the unique power of their own bodies as expressive instruments. Classes cover a breadth of styles, teaching technique
while helping students trust their own instincts—instilling confidence and a sense of accomplishment. Classes focus on
process rather than product, but a year-end optional performance satisfies dancers’ desire to share their growth and hard
work with family and friends. Our program is enhanced by connections to the world-class artists who perform on the Flynn
MainStage and share their dance styles and ideas with FlynnArts students in masterclass settings. Drop-in students are
permitted in teen/adult classes on a space-available basis for $16 per class. However, most classes fill up quickly with
registered students, leaving no room for drop-ins. It is wise to secure a space in class by registering for the full semester.
