What not to miss this semester!
Tuesday nights are alive at the Flynn! Performance workshops on the art of jazz improvisation encourage students
to develop individual styles while learning an essential repertoire (blues, standard tunes, and jazz classics). Combos
consist of bass, percussion, piano, guitar, and horns. Rehearsals culminate in a public performance in FlynnSpace in
April, and some combos also perform at the Discover Jazz Festival in June. Flynn Combos’ tuition includes a ticket to
Vanguard Jazz Orchestra at the Flynn on Friday, January 29 at 8 pm.

The FlynnArts music program offers a variety of vocal and instrumental classes, and serves our widest range of ages, beginning with the young infants in Music Makers. Early music classes enhance children’s natural creative impulses and help develop concentration, coordination, and cooperation. Classes for older children through adults combine individual attention with ensemble work, broaden students’ musical knowledge and performance skills, and introduce like-minded friends who often play and sing together for years to come. Masterclasses with visiting artists and discounts on world-class Flynn Center presentations further enhance the program.
