What not to miss this semester!
MONOLOGUE STUDY: Whether preparing for an audition or simply deepening
your acting skills, this class will endow you with new skills
in dramatic interpretation, character development, and
other acting techniques that offer lasting effects onstage
and off. Beginners will be amazed at what they can
accomplish and rusty veterans will brush up on skills and
acquire new performance tools. Students may choose
to informally share class work with family and friends at
semester’s end. Please bring in one or two monologues
you like—no need to memorize in advance.
SCENE STUDY: Work on paired or small group scenes from a variety of
genres in this supportive class, examining the depth of
possibility within the text, the story, and yourself. Exercises
that promote awareness, playful experimentation, group
observation, and constructive feedback encourage the
safe exploration of new acting territory. Class is open to
bashful beginners, as well as those with more experience
who want to sink their teeth into a rich character or
dynamic conflict without facing an audition first! Students
may choose to informally share class work with family and
friends at semester’s end.

Tours of the historic Flynn Theatre, discounts on world-class MainStage performances, and masterclasses with extraordinary visiting a rtists complement the strong core program.
