Unhinge your creative might! This incredible workshop on
the Flynn stage is always a hit with aspiring teen actors.
Working as a tight and supportive team, we explore and
practice techniques for using the body, voice, and mind in
inspiring ways, stretch ourselves to find new ways to make
compelling performance, and gain skills that embolden
future individual performance work. The experience is
open to all who seek the thrill of unleashing their power
and versatility (and we do all have that!) with others.
ROBIN FAWCETT is an artist and teacher devoted to fueling the urge for artful expression in others. For more than 20 years she has taught acting, directing, physical theater, and the teaching of theater while creating original works and directing plays at the University of Iowa, UVM, CVU High School, FlynnArts, and others.
Our theater program emphasizes individual expression, creative choice, and FUN! Children’s classes build sequentially on the basics, while teens and adults can explore specific theater arts in greater depth (and shorter periods of time.) We keep class sizes small so everyone gets personal attention, and vary themes so that each semester challenges returning students as well as new ones. Performance opportunities let students try out their skills in front of supportive audiences of family and friends, and tours of the historic Flynn Theatre, discounts on world-class MainStage performances, and masterclasses with extraordinary visiting artists complement the strong core program.
