Photo of Sweet Honey in the Rock

The six African-American women of Sweet Honey in the Rock have inspired audiences for nearly 35 years with their righteous call for a more just and humane world. Blending their voices in a mix that celebrates the sacred music of the African American church—spirituals, hymns, gospel—as well as jazz, rap, reggae, doo-wop, and blues. It's an experience like no other when these powerful voices combine to create a blend of lyrics, movement, and narrative that challenges injustice, encourages activism, and honors love. Sweet Honey’s messages are simultaneously interpreted in uniquely expressive American Sign Language.
