"It's time for fun and musical exploration with a fearless banjo player and singer. Washburn has a feel for early American folk music… while she can pick the banjo like crazy, Washburn also has a big voice that's perfectly suited for everything from deep blues to mountain songs." —San Antonio Express-News

An all-star acoustic aggregation of world music, The Sparrow Quartet explores the old-time folk and bluegrass traditions of Appalachia, delves into jazz, spirituals, and gospel, and serves up "Sino-American folk songs" written in Mandarin by captivating lead singer and banjoist Abigail Washburn. The band is rounded out by eight-time Grammy-winning banjo virtuoso Béla Fleck, who has re-invented his chosen instrument over the course of a genre-spanning, 30-year career; fiddler Casey Driessen, one of the fastest-rising stars on the bluegrass circuit; and eclectic singer-cellist Ben Sollee, whose impressive three-finger plucking style covers both Prince and Tears for Fears with a classical bent.
