Raise Your Spirit Higher

Ladysmith Black Mambazo has performed for the Pope and the Queen; entertained at Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies; sung with Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Dolly Parton; and contributed their vocal talents to Paul Simon’s landmark 1986 album, Graceland, and Disney’s The Lion King. The award-winning South African a cappella ensemble has been performing their joyous, high-energy song-and-dance mix for over 45 years under the tutelage of their beloved leader, Joseph Shabalala. Now led by Joseph’s son, Thamsanqa, the trailblazing group returns to the MainStage for the first time in five years with a performance sure to warm winter audiences.
