The Riot Group wraps up a two-week Flynn residency with a work-in-progress performance of Hearts of Man. Co-commissioned by the Flynn and Swarthmore College, this bracing new five-act drama features the full Riot Group ensemble joined by members of Neo-Futurists and the T.E.A.M. in a modern-day New Jersey tragedy in blank verse. As a young female attorney defends a man caught in a televised sex sting, Internet watchdogs and local police pressure a world-weary prosecutor to convict. Tangled up in red-tape and moral vertigo, the two sides collide in a boilerplate courtroom drama where constitutional law meets the “Male Circumcision Defense” in an effort to uncover what lies in the hearts of men, compelling both sides to make, and unmake, the modern sexual predator. “The Riot Group have a gift for tense, language-driven theater,” praises the New York Times.

Extreme Drama with The Riot Group for Ages 15-Adult: A crash-course in making theater from scratch!: Monday, June 25 from 7 to 9:30 pm; Wed., June 27 from 7 to 9:30 pm; and Saturday, June 30 from 1 to 3:30 pm
