During his long career, bassist Avery Sharpe spent an extended time working with pianist McCoy Tyner, in addition to stints with Archie Shepp and Yusef Lateef. His newest album, Legends and Mentors, dedicates an original song to each of these three musicians, along with an interpretation of two originals by each player. Join Sharpe and his band, including pianist Onaje Allan Gumbs, violinist John Blake, saxophonist/ flautist Joe Ford, and drummer Winard Harper, in FlynnSpace for a performance drawn from this superb new album.
