"[Plastic People of the Universe is a] Velvets-Beefheart-Zappa stew with Czech lyrics, free jazz saxophone, grungy viola, crunchy guitar solos, etc., but what makes it unique is the applause. This audience knows that rock & roll can start a revolution and set you free: It happened." —Time Out New York
"A crossover mixture that radiates the spirit of an alternative traveling circus, [Little Cow] moves between melancholia and a wild party atmosphere…catchy songs . . . Top music from a top band." —Sound & Image

Plastic People of the Universe have been called "the greatest obscure rock band of all time." Taking their name from a Frank Zappa song, the band was just a psychedelic '60s band until Czechoslovakia's communist regime took exception to their brand of Velvet Underground and Captain Beefheart-influenced avant-rock, forcing them underground until 1989. Little Cow is a scintillating mix of Gypsy-tinged ska, rock, funk, and pop performed by six charismatic musicians from Budapest. The group, a recent hit at Global Fest in New York City, offers up their exciting brand of party music from across the Atlantic.
