Based on two years of story-gathering
with working class and low-income families in New Hampshire and Vermont,
this one-woman show by acclaimed actress Anne Galjour explores issues of
class and culture in New England. Determined to hang on to her dreams for
her family, a mother who lives in public housing struggles against financial
strain—and discrimination when the parents of her daughter's friends won't
allow them to visit. Hopes, dreams, and lives that are not typically represented
onstage find a voice in this thought-provoking piece.
Links to New England,
socio-economic issues, prejudice, and theater.
