Orrder Form

Inspired by the mapping of the human genome, this multimedia dance piece is the result of a rare and unique collaboration between genetic scientists, researchers, educators, and internationally-acclaimed choreographer Liz Lerman, whose mantra is "Dance is for everyone." She follows through with a dance tailor-made for schools, in which a multigenerational cast of dancers bring the scientific process to life on stage and in film, exploring the double helix structure of DNA and examining how new scientific knowledge changes the way we think about aging, healing, ancestry, and evolution. Students will leave with a greater understanding of DNA and developmental biology, and intrigued by the fascinating issues genomics bring to light.

Links to biology, the human body, scientific research, and dance.
VT Stan.: 7.4, 7.5, 7.13, 7.14.

Note: Grade levels are recommended based on show content and curriculum connections. Grades outside the recommendations are welcome to attend, at the teacher’s discretion. Some special preparation may be useful.
