One of the youngest and most raved-about companies on the world
stage today, Grupo de Rua is changing the face of hip-hop dance.
Called "a milestone in the history of street dance," this group from
Rio de Janeiro translates the explosive athleticism of a street form into
physical art. Focusing on movement by experimenting with musical
approaches (including silence), they craft an astonishingly fresh, intense,
and powerful hip-hop style.
Links to physics of movement, hip-hop culture,
physical fitness, and creative expression.
