Kennedy Center Partners in Education

Since 1992, the Flynn Center has been a member of the prestigious Partners in Education network of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Established in 1991, the program is designed to assist arts organizations throughout the nation in developing and/or expanding educational partnerships with their local school systems. The purpose of the partnerships is the establishment or expansion of professional development programs in the arts for all teachers. There are currently 94 such partnerships nation–wide. Selected because of our demonstrated commitment to the improvement of education in and through the arts, the Flynn has formal partnerships through this network with the:
- Chittenden South School District (since 1997)
- Burlington School District (since 2008)
Together, the Flynn and these partner school districts participate in collaborative efforts to make the arts integral to education.
