A kingdom divided; a plight into madness. King Lear’s principal question—“Who is it that can tell me who I am?”—remains an unanswered and disruptive one four centuries after Shakespeare’s debut of this masterpiece tragedy at the Globe Theatre in London. These five Actors from the London Stage, hailing from such UK companies as Shakespeare’s Globe, the National Theatre, and the Royal Shakespeare Company, wrestle with the Bard’s resounding themes. Co-founded by Sir Patrick Stewart, Actors From the London Stage is one of the most established Shakespeare theater companies in the world, and returns to the Flynn following stunning performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 2016.
