Teacher Workshop Scott Kettner Workshop & Carnival Caravan Fresh Approaches to Teaching Folk Music

Conducted by master drummer/percussionist Scott Kettner, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn the rhythms of New Orleans’ and Brazil’s music traditions. Participants engage with the Brazilian folk music tradition of Maracatu de Baque Virado and its relationship to the New Orleans second line and Mardi Gras Indian rhythms.
