The Community Play Reading Series is an entry-point for conversations that face our community. The Flynn, theater artists, and the greater community of Burlington come together to read a play and engage in conversations surrounding the material. Without any rehearsal, all participants experience the play through an immersive and active reading. Open to all.

Monday, January 29 will be facilitated by Craig Maravich and Randal Pierce. The play, The Elephant Ma by Bernard Pomerance, is chosen because of it's of connection to Claire Cunningham & Jess Curtis' The Way You Look (At Me) Tonight performance happening shortly after on February 2-3. The play provides an opportunity to further engage in conversations around disability in performance, physicality shaping perception, and the resiliency of the human spirit. Composer and musician Randal Pierce will lead us through an improvised soundscape as we explore this play.

Monday, March 19 will be facilitated by Randal Pierce. The play, A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen. With an improvised soundscape by composer, Randal Pierce, we investigate specific themes of this masterful play and how they connect to Souleymane Badolo's Yimbégré (March 30-31).
