Explore techniques that strengthen and serve the imagination while developing an approach to storytelling that includes a deeper connection to the text, choices and expression. This class is designed for experienced performers who are looking to be challenged and engaged in methods that create truthful performances through characterization, physical and vocal work and an active pursuit of objective. Outside class work is required. This class culminates in a final performance.

The deadline to apply has passed - deadline was December 27th, 2018. Applicants will be notified of final decisions by January 8th. FlynnArts Faculty

AMY RILEY is a performer, director, and educator who studied and performed theater and improv in Chicago and NYC at The Second City Conservatory, Improv Olympic, and Upright Citizens Brigade. In Vermont, she is the Producing Artistic Director of the Flynn Youth Theater Company and has performed locally with the Vermont Stage, Stealing From Work, Vermont Young Playwrights, among others.

GINA FEARN has a B.F.A. in theater and music from Otterbein College and is the current drama director at South Burlington High School. She has taught and directed in a number of other schools throughout Vermont and created a performing arts program at a New Jersey charter school. Gina has been co-director of the Flynn Youth Theater Company since 2011.

DANIELLE SERTZ is a director, choreographer, playwright, teacher, and performer whose training includes the National Theater Institute, Ann Reinking’s Musical Theater Project, a B.A. in drama from Ithaca College, and an M.F.A. in directing from UMass Amherst. She has been co-directing the Flynn’s Youth Theater Company since 2009.
