Our Show Choir program focuses on the synthesis of skills in dance, voice, and acting while inspiring students to reach their highest potential in musical theater. Auditions are held on September 7. Please note that that this program is limited to 80 participants, which means we are unable to offer a spot to every youth who auditions.

Our program includes four groups. Each group rehearses a dynamic musical repertoire for performances held throughout the year. The groups are:

• Junior Show Choir (grades 4-7, by audition): The perfect talent incubator for performers who aspire to be triple threats. Material is suited to developing skills and potential.

• Junior Select Show Choir (grade 6-7, by audition): This group provides an opportunity to our young performers who have some experience to take the next step to expand their performance repertoire. Juniors in this group will stay an extra hour (from 12:45-1:45) to prepare additional material in a small ensemble setting.

• Teen Show Choir (grades 7-12, by audition): Students who are on their way to synthesizing all three art forms - dancing, singing, and acting - get the opportunity to challenge themselves with thoughtful and complex material while continuing to build a solid performance foundation.

• Teen Select Show Choir (grades 10-12, by audition): A high level of expected proficiency both challenges and rewards performers whose skills call for more demanding material. Students in this group will stay an extra hour (from 3:30-4:30) to prepare additional advanced material in a small ensemble setting.

More than just singing groups, Show Choirs are powerhouse performing troupes combining high-energy movement with tight vocal harmonies and expressive vitality. In the world of musical theater, your chances of being cast as THAT character (and getting to sing THAT song in front of an adoring audience) are largely outside your control. Show Choirs demolish that barrier, giving everyone the chance to perform favorite songs and amazing characters from the Broadway canon; past selections have been drawn from Next to Normal, Wicked, Spring Awakening, Sweeney Todd, American Idiot, and many other hot shows — not to mention the work of pop sensations like Queen, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, and more. Join us in this amazing program; it’s your time to shine!
