Join interdisciplinary dance artist Hanna Satterlee for this four-day performance project at the Shelburne Museum. Participants will be led through exploratory exercises in writing, choreography, perception and movement, enhancing the relationship between artist and space. The Gallery will be an active collaborator; both the artwork on display as well as the expansive and elegant architecture will influence the outcome of our composition. Our site specific work will be performed for the public on Friday at 4:30. The group will then relocate the work to an outdoor site in downtown Burlington Vermont on June 20th, 2020 to be featured in the Vermont Dance Alliance's "TRACES: A Day of Public Dance Happenings" event. Formal dance experience not required.

HANNA SATTERLEE creates performances and conceptual artworks through dance. By exploring the concept of landscape in a nostalgic way, her works establish a link between the landscape’s reality and that imagined by its conceiver. Hanna holds a double BA in Dance/Psychology with a concentration in Dance Therapy from Goucher College and a Masters in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College. Since '06 Hanna has been a dancer in many US companies and collaborative performance groups, has worked internationally as an independent artist, choreographer, and movement and mindfulness teacher, and has received many grants and awards to support her performance, dance film and curatorial work. From 2010-15 Hanna served as the Director of Professional Programming at the Contemporary Dance & Fitness Studio in Montpelier VT, and has been a guest lecturer at Johnson State College and Middlebury College, and adjunct faculty at Vermont Law School and the University of Vermont. In May '17 Hanna founded the Vermont Dance Alliance, and serves as the Executive Director, both managing a statewide network of dance artists, partners and patrons, as well as producing and curating high-quality dance events and opportunities for the public. Hanna is as passionate for the form of dance as she is in connecting people to it. hannasatt.wordpress.com vermontdance.org
